A lively conversation, practical insights, and real stories: this is what the meeting within the SMART UA project, co-funded by the European Union, looked like.
This time, we explored opportunities in Romania from very different angles, from the real estate market to entrepreneurship in completely different fields. It was exactly this contrast that made the meeting so valuable.
The real estate market in northern Bucharest
Participants learned why the northern areas are currently among the most sought-after, but also the most expensive, what types of housing are in demand, what price levels are relevant today, and what foreigners should pay attention to when buying property. We also discussed documentation, risks, and common mistakes that can be avoided with proper preparation.
Doing business in Romania: different sectors, similar challenges
The second part of the meeting focused on entrepreneurship and showed just how different business paths can be.
We listened to the stories of two businesses in completely different sectors:
- one in the field of creative and innovative products for children, aimed at international markets and the development of intellectual products;
- the other a classic offline retail business, focused on a local audience, day-to-day operations, and physical presence.
Even though they differ in niche, pace, and scale, participants found a lot in common: where you start when you want to launch a business in a new country, how the legal framework works, what decisions need to be made at the beginning, and what challenges you face in practice along the way.
The meeting sparked many questions, discussions, and ideas about personal plans, next steps, and possible development scenarios.
And this is only the beginning. More similar meetings will follow.
Don’t miss the opportunity to broaden your horizons, explore different business models, and find your own path forward.
